The HP 39g+ was initially released in 2003 as an upgrade to the original HP 39g. It features a 75 megahertz ARM processor, 256 kilobytes of RAM, 1 megabyte of flash storage, a miniUSB port for communication with a computer as well as infrared for intercalculator communication as well as a 131 by 64 pixel screen.
The main upgrade of the 39g+ over the 39g is the upgrade from a 4 megahertz HP Saturn microprocessor to a 75 megahertz ARM processor. While the 39g+'s ARM CPU emulates the original HP Saturn chip, it is able to be much more performant than the 39g was.
The operating system on the 39g+ is very interesting and quite different to offerings from Texas Instruments and Casio.
I own a single example of this calculator which is in working condition.
This calculator, while being in working condition, has a damaged screen with many missing pixels and a line that stays on the screen as if the LCD has been cracked somehow. The buttons are very nice and tactile however. The casing of the calculator is in good condition. I obtained it December 12th, 2023.
